MY TESTIMONY

ED JANSEN

I had attended a revival with friends Lois and Jim Lane on April 12, 1963. I heard the gospel message preached.

The invitation hymn given that night was "Almost Persuaded".

This drew me to ultimate conviction of my sinful state and the answer to what life is all about, which is Jesus Christ.

This was the seed planted in my life which resulted in my encounter with the Person of Jesus Christ.

I was never left the same after the meeting. I saw myself as lost in need of salvation.

On March 14,1964 I had encountered one of the lowest points of my life. I felt that life was filled with despair, doubt, insecurity and loneliness. Everything seemed hopeless with no way out. I had considered ending my life.

But God had other plans for my life.

March 15, 1964 I was saved at Patterson Park Brethren Church as I heard the gospel message of salvation preached by Reverend Nate Casement.  I will always be grateful in my heart for that sermon. The invitation hymn was being played , "I heard the voice of Jesus."

Under the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, I was drawn to the altar and to my Savior Who was awaiting my total, unconditional  surrender to Him. I knew there was no turning back. At that moment, I felt a freedom that I had never known before in my life. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had saved me.

The Word of God tells us that we pass from death unto life at the point of salvation. I now realized in my heart the reality and true meaning of this Scripture.  Old things are passed away and all things become new. (2Cor. 5:17)

My Ministry Background

The Lord called me to the ministry after my conversion to Christianity on March 15, 1964.

After ministry training, I was ordained May 6, 1974 through AFMC (association of fundamental ministers and churches).

My calling to the ministry led me into service to God through outreach in nursing home pastorate ministry, jail ministry, and work in the City Mission.

Montgomery County Nursing Home   pastor      35 years   (1970-present)
Dayton City Mission  outreach   13 years   (1968-1991)
Montgomery County Jail    outreach   30 years   (1974-present)

I have been privileged to assist others through training them in ministry work, enabling them to move into God's calling for their lives.

To this we give GOD the glory for all things. AMEN.

Psalm 46:10

Galatians 2:20

INVITATION to RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, receive Him today. The appointed time of salvation is now. (Acts 4:12)

Salvation is an act of faith by the grace of God.

Grace means unmerited favor. Grace means that we are given something we didn't deserve.

Sinful man is not deserving , but the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. Jesus Christ loves us that much.

(John1:12; Eph. 2:8 and 9)

Jesus is calling you today.

Open your heart and receive Him As Savior and Lord.

Pray this prayer with me:

God be merciful to me , a sinner. I repent of my sins toward God and by faith alone, I receive the shed blood of Jesus Christ to save me and cleanse me for time and eternity. I now give thanks to God and give Him praise.

AMEN
